The assignment was to redesign a book cover, never having read the book. I chose Augustus and His Smile. This book was written and illustrated by Cathrine Rayner. The book cover was already beautiful, but I wanted to challenge myself to redesign it using the text to convey the tiger’s smile. The book was about finding his smile so I reversed the word smile, to make a faint frown. I wanted the cover to be vibrant and draw the attention of its young audience.
